Keurig Green Mountain Sponsors 2018 Great Massachusetts Cleanup

Keep Massachusetts Beautiful today announced Keurig Green Mountain Inc. (Keurig) has signed on as Presenting Sponsor for the 2018 Great Massachusetts Cleanup. Keurig’s contribution will help offset Keep Massachusetts Beautiful’s expenses related to this statewide spring cleanup event.

Every spring since 2015, volunteers in communities across the state organize litter cleanups, park maintenance projects, tree planting, and other community service events as part of the Great Massachusetts Cleanup. As part of the Great Massachusetts Cleanup in 2018, Keurig is also organizing a community cleanup event with employee volunteers in Burlington, Massachusetts on April 17.

“This support from Keurig is critical to our efforts to grow participation in the Great Massachusetts Cleanup,” said Neil Rhein, founder and executive director of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful. “Our goal is to one day have all 351 Massachusetts towns and cities participate in the Great Massachusetts Cleanup. With the support of the business community and local volunteers, we can reduce litter, promote civic pride, and educate the public about the impact of litter on our environment and our economy.”

To achieve its mission of a cleaner, greener Massachusetts, Keep Massachusetts Beautiful is coordinating with local and state government leaders and volunteers to organize and promote the 2018 Great Massachusetts Cleanup in April 2018. Cleanup Captains, individual volunteers, and businesses can register at www.keepmassbeautiful.org/2018GMC.

“We believe that Massachusetts businesses can play a vital role in helping us reduce litter and plastic pollution,” said Rhein. “Investing more resources in environmental education, litter prevention, enforcement, and cleanup will result in a cleaner, more attractive landscape. That’s not only good for Massachusetts residents, but it’s good for our state’s tourism industry and our economy.”
