On July 4, 2026, the United States of America will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This is a once-in-a-generation moment for all Americans to come together to celebrate the proud legacy of our beautiful nation.
We are proud to join Keep America Beautiful in its goal to encourage 25,000 communities across the USA to pledge support for the Greatest American Cleanup.
In honor of America’s 250th birthday, Keep America Beautiful is asking Americans to help meet an ambitious goal of cleaning up 25 billion pieces of litter and beautifying 25,000 communities across the country between now and July 4, 2026. The Greatest American Cleanup seeks to:
- Unite Americans around a shared goal of making our country look its best for this momentous birthday celebration.
- Honor the natural beauty of our land and the can-do spirit of the American people.
- Spark a renewed sense of civic pride in cities, towns, and communities across the nation.
- Inspire communities, organizations, and individuals to take action in support of a cleaner, more sustainable, more
beautiful future.
Do Beautiful Things
This is a call for all Americans — from children to seniors — to do beautiful things by cleaning up and greening up their communities.
- Keep America Beautiful is asking individuals, groups, and organizations to help remove 25 billion (that's billion with a B!) pieces of litter from America’s parks, waterways, and public spaces by July 4, 2026. It’s ambitious, but achievable.
- Keep America Beautiful is inviting every American to make their own declaration of support, starting with a commitment to picking up 250 pieces of litter.
- Keep America Beautiful is asking 25,000 communities across the USA to declare their support for the Greatest American Cleanup by
taking action to affirm their commitment to being clean, green, and beautiful for America’s 250th Celebration.
The Greatest American Cleanup is an opportunity for every American to get involved and be part of the greatest cleanup event in history. Not only will our landscapes be rid of millions of pounds of litter, but we’ll also be laying the groundwork for a more beautiful future as new generations of Americans join the movement to Keep America Beautiful by doing beautiful things.
