City Splash (Charles River)
It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for: Swimmer registration for our annual Charles River public swim, City Splash, is officially open. Take the plunge into one of Boston’s most unique summer traditions and experience the rare opportunity to swim in the Charles at the Esplanade on Saturday, July 12.
Registrants must be 18+, be comfortable swimming in deep water only, and sign a waiver day-of-event. Swim spots are capped to ensure safety and enjoyment for all participants.
To celebrate the Charles River Conservancy's 25th anniversary and 8th annual swim in 2025, this year we will have an expanded vendor village, a variety of food trucks, and plenty of fun activities for all ages in the park. Although swimmers must be pre-registered, on-land activities are free and open to the public throughout the event. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration for a glorious summer afternoon on the Esplanade!
