Cleaning Up The Mess: Disaster Debris Planning and Litter Cleanup Events
Whether it's a hurricane, tornado, flood, heavy winds, or snow, all municipalities face the possibility of weather-related "disasters" that leave us with excess debris that must be managed safely and efficiently. To provide some guidance on managing these events, our September meeting will include a presentation and discussion on Disaster Debris Planning, featuring John Fischer, MassDEP Branch Chief for Commercial Waste Reduction Programs.
When the "mess" is not disaster-related, but rather it is ongoing and pervasive as in the case of litter, this can create blight in parts of every community. To tackle this issue, we have invited Neil Rhein from Keep Massachusetts Beautiful, a leader in organizing Litter Clean-Up Events in the Commonwealth.
Please join us to learn from these experts and to share experiences from your municipalities.
