Gloucester Beaches Cleanup
Each September through November, thousands of volunteers throughout Massachusetts turn out for COASTSWEEP, the statewide beach cleanup sponsored by the Massachusetts office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM). COASTSWEEP is part of the International Coastal Cleanup organized by the Ocean Conservancy. Volunteers from all over the world collect marine debris—trash, plastic, cigarette butts, and any other human-made items—and record what they find. This information is then analyzed and used to identify sources of marine debris and develop education and policy initiatives to help reduce it.
Join with your family, friends, and neighbors and help give Good Harbor Beach, Stage Fort Park, Niles Beach, Pavilion Beach, Plum Cove, Wingaersheek Beach, Rocky Neck, Brace Cove, and Cripple Cove a thorough cleaning. Please be sure to register in advance with the cleanup coordinator using the contact information below.
