Salem Summer Sweep
Come join with your family, friends, and neighbors to give downtown Salem a thorough summer sweep! This cleanup event offers volunteers the opportunity to get some fresh air while cleaning up the litter that has accumulated in downtown Salem. Together, we can keep Salem beautiful and litter-free!
The Salem Summer Sweep is scheduled for Sunday, July 17. Volunteers should report to Riley Plaza at Margin Street at 10 a.m.
All volunteers are urged to follow these safety guidelines:
• Wear rubber-lined gloves, use proper technique when removing gloves, and sanitize hands immediately upon completing your cleanup
• Use a trash grabber tool (Keep Massachusetts Beautiful and Keep Salem Beautiful have tools to lend out)
• Wear brightly colored clothing, clean up in the direction of oncoming traffic, and avoid stepping into the street whenever possible
